- What happened to your son? He had a traumatic birth that I am not ready to talk about. This resulted in brain damage and a myriad of conditions.

* Autonomic Dysregulation - William has trouble controlling his body temperature

* CP - Cerebral Palsy 

* CVI - Cortical Vision Impairment, difficulty processing what they are seeing 

* HIE - Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy. HIE is where the brain does not receive blood and oxygen, effectively causing brain damage. 

* Sahlorea - excessive secretions or saliva etc. 

* Spastic Quadrapalegic - my son can not completely control the movements in his four limbs. The signals do not travel smoothly from the brain to the limb making it difficult to do a range of things from walking to picking something up 

* Stoma - an opening that has been created in the body such as the hole where his trach goes in or the hole where his feeding tube goes in 

* Straight Surgical J Tube - a more unique feeding tube that does not go near the stomach but rather goes directly into the jejunum/intestine 

* Tracheostomy - a trach is the tube put into the throat into the trachea for breathing purposes.
